A model, based on inverse gas chromatography experiments, has been developed for intermolecular interaction and its temperature dependence. The model ascribes to each substance a four-component solubility parameter; the four components reflect the van der Waals, polar, electron donor, and electron acceptor interactive properties. Their values depend on temperature in the same manner as does the cohesive energy. The latter was found to depend only on the critical temperature, the acentric factor, and the reduced temperature. The model was used for evaluation of the solubility parameters from polymer-solvent interaction coefficients and their temperature dependence with high accuracy. For binary solventsolvent mixtures, the free energy of mixing and its temperature dependence, as well as enthalpy of mixing can be derived from this model with a good accuracy. 相似文献

A variable-temperature high-resolution 13C and 87Rb solid-state NMR study of powder rubidium hydrogencarbonate, RbHCO3, is presented for the first time. At ambient temperature, RbHCO3 is formed by centrosymmetric dimers linked by hydrogen bonds, but almost no information is available on this compound concerning proton disorder and the low-temperature phase. However, potassium hydrogencarbonate, KHCO3, which has an isomorphic structure for the high temperature phase, was well studied: it undergoes a non-ferroic, non-ferroelectric phase transition at Tc = 318 K between two monoclinic structures. The protons are disordered in an asymmetric double-well potential in the low-temperature phase, and the double-well potential becomes symmetric in the high-temperature phase. By comparison with recent solid-state NMR experimental results on KHCO3, we show that RbHCO3 undergoes a phase transition at Tc approximately 245 K, and give evidence that the proton dynamic disorder in both compounds is very similar. 相似文献

Block copolymers based on poly(pentafluorostyrene), PFS, in various numbers and of different lengths, and polystyrene are prepared by atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP). Di- and triblock copolymers with varying amounts of PFS were synthesized employing either 1-phenylethylbromide or 1,4-dibromoxylene as initiators for ATRP. Diverse bromo(ester) (macro)initiators were also devised and involved in the formulation of fluorinated pentablock as well as amphiphilic triblock copolymers with a central polyether segment. Amphiphilic star-shaped fluoropolymers, hydrophobic fluorinated nanoparticles, or segmented fluorinated star-shaped block copolymers are further designed by use of different multifunctional initiators. The composition of the novel materials with PFS is determined by combination of SEC and 1H NMR. Glass transition temperatures and thermal stabilities of the hydrophobic star-shaped PFSs on a six arm dipentaerythritol core are investigated in a wide range of molecular masses and further discussed. 相似文献

Much research has been done on line tension measurement and interpretation, and attempts have also been made to measure line tension with simple, cheap and reliable methods that do not require excessive sophistication. Of particular interest is the method of determining line tensions of solid–liquid–vapor systems from the capillary rise in a conical tube. This simple and relatively inexpensive method gives line tension values comparable to those reported in the literature obtained via highly sophisticated instruments or techniques such as the well known axisymmetric drop shape analysis technique. The absolute value of line tension obtained using the conical tube method and assuming a spherical liquid–vapor interface is larger but of the same order of magnitude (1 μJ m−1) as that reported in the literature. A theoretical analysis presented herein shows that by including the deformation of the liquid–vapor interface due to gravity in the conical capillary analysis, the line tension value inferred from the experimental data is reduced by approximately 50% and compares better with values in the literature obtained using other sophisticated methods. Thus a relatively simple, cheap, accurate and reliable method of line tension measurement has been advanced. 相似文献

Vapor pressure measurements and small angle scattering (SANS) experiments are reported and discussed for bispiperidinium (BP) bromide and n-tetrapentylammonium bromide solutions in methanol at 25°C. The BP+ ion which may be considered as a tetraalkylammonium (TAA) ion with pairwise connected alkyl chains, is used for the study of the effects due to flexible TAA alkyl chains. Absolute small angle X-ray studies of concentration fluctuations were performed in order to determine thermodynamic properties of a model blend, consisting ofn-hexane and perfluoro-n-hexane. The quantities which we determined were the second derivate of the Gibbs free energy of mixing with respect to the concentration of the components, the location of the spinodal, interaction and solubility parameters, the energy gradient density coefficient as well as the correlation length of the fluctuations at various compositions and temperatures, particularly in the neighbourhood of the spinodal and the critical point. Solid-state 2H NMR spectroscopy is a well-established and versatile method to study molecular orientation and dynamics in selectively deuterated samples. Herein, we introduce a 2D 2H double-quantum (DQ) NMR experiment performed under fast magic-angle spinning with a slight offset of the magic angle (OMAS). The experiment combines 2H chemical-shift resolution with DQ-filtered quasistatic 2H line shapes. In this way, it is possible to separate 2H resonances and to independently determine 2H quadrupole couplings at multiple sites. While 2H chemical shifts are resolved in the 2H DQ dimension, the quadrupole parameters can be obtained from characteristic line shapes which are reintroduced in the second dimension by the magic-angle offset. The 2D 2H DQ OMAS experiment is demonstrated on L-histidine which was deuterated at multiple sites by recrystallisation from D2O. 相似文献

Intact kidney tissue samples of normal and spontaneously hypertensive rats (SHRs) were analyzed by hrMAS-NMR spectroscopy and principal component analysis (PCA). Radial components (cortex, outer stripe of the outer medulla, inner stripe of the outer medulla, and papilla) were sampled from various regions across the kidney from multiple animals in order to establish inter- and intra-animal variability. The effects of temperature were also measured. Papilla was differentiated from the other tissue types, and this variation by tissue type was greater than the effect of temperature on the samples (spectra were compared from samples at 2 and 30 °C). This study also revealed long term stability issues of tissue storage at -80 °C. A two-dimensional model has been developed for the calculation of the electromagnetic (EM) fields generated by spiral coil currents, in order to obtain a better representation of the actual configuration used in a typical inductively coupled plasma (ICP) torch. In order to obtain the EM fields in a two-dimensional model, the change of EM field in tangential direction is neglected and the coil is assumed to be a concentric cylinder. In order to justify our assumption, the EM, flow and temperature fields resulting from five-ring coil and concentric cylinder coil are compared and the results are almost the same except for the EM field in the vicinity of the coil. In the case of the spiral coil, the coil current is inclined with respect to the horizontal plane. Therefore current in the cylinder coil is assumed to have the same inclined angle, which is split into tangential and axial components. The axial electric field and hence an axial current in plasma is induced by the axial component of the spiral coil current. Charge density is accumulated in the plasma, since the axial current cannot form a loop. In order to obtain the EM field and the charge distribution in the plasma generated by the spiral coil, the equations of axial vector potential and electrostatic potential have been derived. Due to the swirling Lorentz force (Jz×Br) an axisymmetrical swirling fluid model is used to simulate the plasma flow in an axisymetrical configuration. With an inclined angle of the coil current being 3.7° and the frequency being 3 MHz, computational results show that the swirling Lorentz force causes plasma swirling with a maximum speed of 3.41 m/s near the plasma center when the injected sheath gas and central gas are not swirling. In these conditions, the real and imaginary parts of the maximum electrostatic potential are 0.95 V and 1.66 V, respectively. When the electrostatic field is neglected, the swirling velocity of the plasma is 3.95 m/s. 相似文献
